ROGERS PARK GOLF COURSEA golf course icon for many Black golfers from the 50s, 60s and 70s! It was at Rogers Park that African American golfers gathered and flourished during the 1960s and 70s. Included was an annual golf tournament known as the Mid-Winter Open, and the weekend of activities attracted golfers from throughout the United States. Operated by the Tampa Sports Authority and Rogers Park Golf Course is host to the Mid-Winter Classic weekend that features The Advocates USA Pro Invitational and Mid-Winter Amateur Classic.
